This works best for a founder who wants a hands-on technical partner with room to shape the product. The details below should help you decide whether that sounds like you.
A working product gives you something useful to put in front of customers. We start with the smallest version that lets them try the idea, then use what we learn to decide what comes next.
We work backward from the first useful thing someone can do with your product. That gives us a manageable first release and helps us spot features that can wait. For a focused MVP, the target is 90 days; we agree what's realistic for your project before starting.
AI is part of how I develop software every day. It helps me turn decisions into working code quickly. I still make the architectural choices, review the code and test the product. You're hiring my judgment and my responsibility for the result.
You'll get working versions to try as features are ready. Early on, that might be a prototype of the main workflow. Later, it's a product you can use with customers. Your feedback helps us catch misunderstandings while they're still easy to fix.
Who will use this, what do they need from it, and how will the business make money? Those answers guide the features, the design and the technology.
If a feature is expensive and unlikely to help your first customers, I'll say so. We'll look at what it adds and whether there's a simpler way to get the same result. I can also work alongside you on the copy, marketing and branding around the product.
I'll recommend how the system should fit together and explain the tradeoffs in cost, complexity and future development. You can challenge a decision or ask me to explain it without needing to become an engineer first.
My usual starting points are:
Your requirements come first. I choose the tools after we understand what the product needs to do.
Early in the build, I set up hosting, automated checks and a test environment. You can try changes there before they reach customers. We also plan how to release updates and recover if a release goes wrong.
I build SaaS products, websites, internal dashboards and native apps for iOS and Android. We'll choose the format around how your customers will use it, then work through the screens and features they need.
You'll work directly with me, with agreed priorities, regular updates and working software to review. This is a non-exclusive partnership: I also work on several other projects, setting aside focused time for each. We work asynchronously, so you can share feedback around your own schedule while I take care of the build.
I work solo or with a small team on new builds, rebuilds and prototypes that need to be ready for customers. If another team started the product, I can take it forward when I have room to rethink the design and technical choices. If you already have a designer, we can work together.
You can send questions and feedback when they occur to you. I work independently and am generally available on Slack during Toronto business hours. We can keep decisions moving without needing everyone online at the same moment.
I'll keep you up to date with short messages about what's ready, what's next and where I need your input. There are no recurring stand-ups or weekly status meetings to fit into your calendar.
We use Linear, a shared project tracker, to keep the work visible. You can see what's in progress, what's coming next and what's waiting for a decision. It also gives us somewhere to keep ideas for later.
Blueprint Ventures Inc. provides development services on a fixed monthly retainer. If you'd also like my ongoing advice as a fractional CTO, we can discuss a separate personal advisory role and equity stake.
The monthly retainer is paid to Blueprint Ventures Inc. for development services: planning the build, writing and testing the code, deployment and launch. We agree the work and monthly budget before starting. When priorities change, we discuss what that means for the build and the launch plan.

If I take an ongoing advisory role as a fractional CTO, I may hold a personal equity stake in your company. I'd help with technical direction, major decisions and supporting your team as the business grows. We'd agree those responsibilities and equity terms separately from the development services.
