Uplevel is a real estate platform that combines agent MLS data with marketing tools, so realtors can market a property quickly and follow up with the buyers who show interest. Listings, campaigns, contacts and follow-up live in one place instead of five.

It is one of the most comprehensive Rust-based realty platforms available today, built end to end on the stack described across this site.

Howdy is an email marketing provider: create campaigns and manage lists of millions of recipients. Its edge is that delivery is decoupled from management, so users can connect a variety of delivery providers rather than being locked to one.

Written in C# on .NET and TypeScript, with very high-performance email delivery engines in the back end.

After the acquisition I joined Datadog as a senior engineer and became engineering manager of the Observability Pipelines team, which uses Vector as its core product and builds an observability tool on top of it.

I led the team of fifteen, helped create the backend API and the dashboards, made the architectural decisions, and led many of the product decisions.

Vector

Vector is an open-source, high-performance pipeline for collecting, transforming and routing observability data. I built its backend API in GraphQL and the observability around running Vector instances.

That work then became the foundation of an enterprise version of Vector sold at Datadog, with customers on multiple large contracts.

Timber built a logging platform and, later, Vector. I worked on the admin area of the platform and built out the dashboard tooling it used. I also led a greenfield project that used Amazon CloudWatch Logs as its storage engine, written in Go and TypeScript.

I led many of the acquisition discussions with Datadog before Timber was acquired in February 2021. The timber.io site now redirects to vector.dev.
