Howdy lets teams create campaigns and manage lists of millions of recipients. They can connect different email delivery providers while keeping their campaigns and contact lists in the same application.

I founded and built Howdy, using C# on .NET for the application and delivery engines, and TypeScript for the interface. Separating campaign management from delivery gives customers a choice about how their mail is sent.

After Datadog acquired Timber in February 2021, I joined as a senior engineer and later became engineering manager of the Observability Pipelines team. The product builds on Vector to help teams manage the data they use to understand their systems.

During my four years at Datadog, I led a team of fifteen. My work included the backend API, dashboards, architectural choices and many of the product decisions. That experience informs how I plan a product for both its first release and the team that will maintain it.

I was one of the first five people on the Vector team. The software collects, transforms and routes the data teams use to monitor their systems. Over more than four years as a core contributor, I built its GraphQL backend API and the tools for understanding what a running Vector instance was doing.

That work helped form the foundation of the enterprise product at Datadog. Vector is open source, so you can explore the project and its code.

At Timber, I worked on the admin area and dashboards for its logging platform. I also led a new logging product built in Go and TypeScript, using Amazon CloudWatch Logs for storage.

Alongside the engineering work, I led many of the discussions with Datadog ahead of its acquisition of Timber in February 2021. I then joined Datadog to continue building on that work.
